It’s that time of year again. Kids are heading back to school and life is feeling a little hectic right now.
Here are some simple and quick tips to help make this time of year easier.
Plan Ahead. Mornings can be stressful. Not only do you have to make sure you are completely prepared for the day to come, you also have to make sure that everyone else in your household is too. When planning ahead, there are two key components: weekly planning and daily planning.
1. Weekly: The first thing to do is to plan your week. Grocery shop over the weekend. Make sure you have everything stocked by Sunday night so you don’t have to scramble midweek. If you really want extra time, try to meal prep. Make all of your meals over the weekend or at least have ingredients measured out and ready to cook.
2. Daily: Now that the weekend is over, there are daily things that you can do to stress less. Make lunches when you get home from work. Have everything in a small section of the refrigerator to grab and go so you don’t have to rustle around in the drawers to find everything in the morning. After you are finished preparing lunches, check the weather for the following day and lay out your family’s clothing. You will sleep easier knowing that you don’t have to fight with the closet (or your kids!) in the morning.
Pack Healthy. Refrain from keeping those “temptations” in your house. When packing lunches and snacks for you and your family members, pack healthy. It will leave everyone feeling more energized and productive.
