After years of being heavy and not knowing what to do about it I finally hit my low point after my second baby. I was eating without regard to portion size or the health of the food. I was tired, sluggish, annoyed by anything and overall completely unmotivated to do anything beyond the requirements of work, bills, and kids. I quit dreaming or having life goals and resigned myself to life being how it was at the weight I was. I bought bigger jeans and said, “That’s ok, so long as my clothes fit it doesn’t matter.” But when I started to get to the point those jeans weren’t going to fit much longer I finally reached out to a friend for help.
In October 2018 I got started on the health plan she recommended and thought, “I’ll lose the weight and then I can go back to life as I knew it.” I lost 18 lbs. in 3 weeks and lost my motivation. Life was very stressful at the time and I decided I just couldn’t do it anymore. Besides, all my jeans fit again.
But then by January I was back to feeling sluggish, unmotivated, and depressed. I knew I could feel so much better and not have a stomach ache after every meal. So I made a choice to get back on plan. It’s only been a couple weeks and in that time I have changed my life, lost another 12 lbs.
My first time around I thought of the program as a weight loss plan and missed the idea completely. It’s not a weight loss program; it is a change of habits and a lifestyle to keep me happy, healthy, and successful in life! We only get one so why waste it.
