As we hit our stride with the summer heat don’t let the blazing sun, heat and humidity stop you from taking your exercise and other actives outside. By taking time to plan, you can enjoy a safe and healthy experience.
If you’re in need of some new motivation to get outside, why don’t you try changing up your route? Whether or not it’s a brand new path, back road, beach or a unique aspect of the town, walking or running this new route, you might be surprised what you’ll discover. Or try rising early to catch the cool of the morning, or try going out at sunset or later.
In the heat of midday, take cover under shade or jump in a pool. A 30-minute swim session will burn almost 400 calories! If swimming laps isn’t your thing, you could try a water aerobics class. Water provides several advantages simply from drinking it, however exercising in it is an entirely different ball game. Swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, water aerobic exercise, surfing, or maybe water athletics, today is the day to try it out. There’s one thing to remember when exercising in H20, it helps you feel completely like a different person once you’re done.
You could even try taking it indoors; take a class or try an online workout. And if you do go outside in the blazing sun be sure to pay heed to the heat. Listen to your body and take a break if it’s needed.
