This is so true that it is almost funny and scary for me at the same time.
I have caught myself so many times comparing my life to what others are doing and what they are achieving. I look at them, as a person and sometimes see someone just like me. So why don’y I have what they have? Why am I not achieving the same as they are? Why are they having so much more success than I am. This relates to ALL aspects of our lives.
What I (we) fail to realize is that there is so much more to a person, that just what we can see outwardly. We don’t know their determination, their “WHY”, the hours they invest into what they want or how focused on the goal they want while they are putting in the hours. Do they get sidetracked (I am often guilty of this) while working towards their goal(s).
What I have learned is two fold. If I want something bad enough, I can achieve it. AND when I start achieving it, NOTICE what I have achieved and STOP focusing on what others have done.
Here is a dose of reality….. There are others looking at you wondering, Why not them!
The climb to the top of the mountain comes at different speeds and times for everyone, but the view is always the same once you get there (Corey Baker). Forward momentum is always FORWARD!
People give yourself some grace! When you achieve your goal or part of your goal, take notice of what you have done, celebrate it. This usually leads to continued and many times greater (faster) success!
